Nadia and I were at SMK Aminuddin Baki in KL over the weekend... man... I tell ya, school just isn't the way it used to be. Maybe it's just this school. Firstly, the SCHOOL was HUGE! 6 freaking buildings... wow... I had like 2 - the other one was not even a full whole building - half of it was taken up by a cafeteria.
So anyway, the Interact Club of both SMK Aminuddin Baki & SMK Methodist (L) came together and got this event going called the International Understanding Day - they got participation from loads of schools all over the country... Ipoh, Taman Tun, Victoria Institute and more... theme of the event - Africa...
We hosted the last 1 1/2 hours of the event...
The event started at 10am... we joined in around 1:30 - an hour and a half before it ended a little past 3 but just that 1 1/2 hours wowed us! It was very very very well coordinated and set-up... they had the projector, smoke machine, Nadia and I got 'red' chairs - fooiyoh... VIP lar, visual effect machines, they got a group of Africans to drop by to perform and more! Oh yeah, we met an African Queen as well... she was lovely :P
To pay tribute to the people living with Polio, they had a whole donation & candle light session - as usual... Nadia went... "OMG BEN! I forgot to bring money!" - but we both still did our bit... she has yet to pay me BACK!
Then there were the amazing performances and the fashion show!
There was even the FIFA World Cup feel!
Oh yes, I must not forget the crowd... check it out here... they were A M A Z I N G..
Thank you.. In short, it was an AMAZING afternoon... the most memorable performance for me would be the dance performance by Afro Jazz & the strangely named - CRUMP Sh*t... mmm... :P...
Thank you for all the love and support shown by SMK Aminuddin Baki & all the students who were there that afternoon... oh yes, not forgetting the President of the Interact Club @ SMK Aminuddin Baki - Annabelle - thank you for having us!!!
